About
I started on a path to be a high school English and Theatre teacher, but found my true passion working with adults. Nevertheless, education continued to beckon. After several years working in school offices and in district-level departments, I followed a deep interest in communications, especially interpersonal communication skills. I have over 25 years of experience working in education and the past 16 years in school district communications. I proudly served the past six years as the Director of Communications and Public Relations for Mukilteo School District, just north of Seattle.
Helping school and district staff polish their communication skills soon became the favorite part of my job. With additional training in neuro-linguistic programming, storytelling, voice and stage acting, my keynotes and trainings are entertaining, engaging and educational. I enjoy helping others develop positive relationships through respectful and flexible communication techniques. I am especially passionate about engaging classified staff, supporting family needs, and recognizing strengths in different personalities and working styles.
I am also a speaker with J.Marie & Associates, bringing education-focused communications trainings to schools across the nation.
I live in Washington state with my husband, our two teenagers, and two cats. I love fun, sassy family board game nights, gardening, dancing and working with polymer clay.
